Recife Oceanfront

The oceanfront in Recife is exquisite, with crystal clear water the color of turquoise, and white sand that is fine grained and clean.  There is a line of natural reefs that help to protect the beach and visitors. There are numerous oceanfront buildings in Recife, and these range from apartments, hotels, restaurants, and bars, to private houses.

There are several different areas of oceanfront in Recife. The most famous would be the oceanfront area of Praca de Boa Viagem beach, and this has become a popular tourist attraction. This beach area has been made famous thanks to television and movies showing the beach as a typical Brazilian beach. The oceanfront is scattered with kiosks on the sidewalks, and with barracas and  ambulantes. There is no cooking allowed on the oceanfront in Recife, and no exceptions to this law are made.

There is an abundance of rental units available on the oceanfront in Recife. From small hostels to large hise rise deluxe five star hotels, there is something for rent to meet any budget. However in the oceanfront area of Praia de Boa Viagem, the prices can be steep, as this area is normally used by the rich and upper middle class locals as well as rich tourists. Outside of this beach area, if you go north or south down the beach a ways, the prices for oceanfront rentals in Recife are more reasonable, and the neighborhoods range from lower to middle classes. An important thing to remember, though, is that lower prices may also mean lower quality.  The old adage that you get what you pay for may be true.

Apartments and houses for rent or purchase along the oceanfront in Recife may be reasonable or high priced, depending on the exact location zone on the oceanfront. No matter which zone the oceanfront is located in, the sand and water are gorgeous, and the whole strip of oceanfront in Recife is a paradise for water, sand, and sunlovers from around the world. Visitors and locals alike enjoy walking along the oceanfront and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

The oceanfront in Recife is beautiful, but it can also be dangerous. Past the reefs, there have been attacks by bull sharks, so the oceanfront is studded with signs that warn of the danger. Swimming or surfing past the reef, or in areas where the reef is not present, is against the law.
